How to Cope With a Gay Relative

Finding out that somebody is gay in your family may be shocking, you can have people say things about you and your family and you can feel upset, hurt and angry. This is how to get over things like this.

 Steps

    1
Think about it, give it time. Act like things are normal. Whoever is gay will find it very strange if you act like things are over because of this, and it will also make your family feel worse.
    2
Listen to what people have to say. The gay person may feel confused and might feel scared and worried. You having a go at them is not going to help, sometimes it makes you a bad person when you do not give somebody a chance.
    3
Accept that it is who they are. You may find this hard to learn, but no matter what you do you can not stop somebody from loving somebody, have a word with this person tell them how you feel, without moaning.
    4
Carry on with your lives. This can be hard for a family to cope with, do not act wired by sitting at a dinner table and not speaking, carry on like how it used to be, talking about this will not help at all.
    5
Do not hate this person, think about how close they have been to you, think about how hard it must be for the couple. Totally ignoring them on the way to a shop, is rude. They could not help it, don't ever say things like "I can't even look at you" or "You make me sick" how would you feel if it happened to you?"

If somebody is talking about you ignore this. Loads of people may think this is strange or bad or wrong, but it happens and if it happens it happens.
